Destiny’s child

Destiny’s child

"I’m not religious or spiritual. But I believe in Karma. I believe when you work for something, it’s then that you are closest to God. My work has stood by me like a rock. In my worst times, I’ve been able to dive into it and it’s given me back. I am destiny’s favourite child. I don’t fight for things I desire. I’ll never say, ‘Oh! I want to be part of that film’. When I have to fight for what I want, I know the time is not right. Why else would there be a struggle? Because a while later, when the same thing happens effortlessly, I ask myself, ‘Why did it happen so easy?’ It’s because earlier the time wasn’t conducive. I work hard, I leave no stone unturned. I am professional; I do my homework… so that I don’t fail at my job."

"Traveling has taught me more than any school in the world could. It set me free and filled a void that nothing else would have. The experiences you go through and the people you meet along the way influence you and help you evolve. Travel rejuvenates the mind, body and soul!"

Priyanka to romance Fawad

Priyanka to romance Fawad

Word is that the fresh pairing of Fawad Khan and Priyanka Chopra will feature in Reema Kagti’s Mr. Chaloo, originally planned with Kagana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan in mind.

While Fawad Khan was taken on after negotiations with Shahid Kapoor for the lead role fell through, Priyanka has been chosen to play the lead after her performance in Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming film, Dil Dhadakne Do. Priyanka shares a great rapport with the producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, as well as director Zoya, who has co-written Mr. Chaloo. After hearing a narration of the film from Reema, PeeCee instantly agreed to come on board. We hope this fresh pairing takes off and the film is given the go-ahead to go on floors in September.

The makers of the romantic-thriller Bombay Velvet have got the rights of the iconic Geeta Dutt song Jaata Kahaan Hain Diwane from the Dev Anand starrer CID. The original song was picturised on the legendary Waheeda Rehman, has been re-versioned with a more contemporary feel and has been picturised on Anushka Sharma who plays a 60s superstar singer named Rosie Noronha. In fact, it is by singing Jaata Kahaan Hain that Rosie gets noticed as a singer in a club and becomes the marquee performer at Johnny Balraj's (played Ranbir Kapoor) Bombay Velvet. The blockbuster CID was released in 1956 and the song was a roaring superhit. Looks like the makers of Bombay Velvet are leaving no stones unturned to capture the look and feel of the era in which the film is set.

Set against the backdrop of ambition, love, greed, and jazz - Bombay Velvet is the story of one ordinary man who goes against all odds and forges his destiny to become a ‘Big Shot’. Jazz clubs, a passionate love story, a growing metropolis and a phenomenal hunger for a good life. Welcome to the City of Dreams. Welcome to Bombay Velvet.

At a recent film event, Shruti Haasan was consistently complimented for her looks. So much so that the gorgeous actor asked a friend to put a kaala tikka on her to ward off the evil eye. Considering nobody around had a kaajal pencil she was happy making do with a tikka applied behind her neck with a ball pen instead.
